Tracking Durable Building Product Trends and Purchase Incidence

There are several durable goods categories in the building products industry with a low household purchase incidence.  How is your firm tracking these purchase behaviors?  What are the demographic trends across U.S. households?  What type(s) of product is being purchased?  These are critical questions, and The Farnsworth Group has established a process to provide the answers.

The Farnsworth Group’s Process

Each month a custom online survey will be fielded among a balanced sample of representative households asking them about your category.  You’ll receive data monthly that is weighted against the American Community Survey (ACS) to deliver the following:

  • Incidence of U.S. households that purchased your category the prior month
  • Purchaser and non-purchaser demographics (age, gender, income, geography, etc.)
  • Brand, size, shape, channel of their durable good purchase the previous month

Whether your category has a high purchase incidence, or is a fraction of a percent, our process will deliver reliable trends of durable purchases tailored for your needs.  Contact us to discuss your specific needs and how our process will help.

About the ACS:

The American Community Survey (ACS) is an ongoing Census funded survey to roughly 3 million households per year that provides vital information about occupations, educational attainment, whether
people own or rent their home, income, age and other topics.  Public officials, planners, and entrepreneurs use this information to assess the past and plan the future.
